philippines, my philippines ...

everything, and aything about the philippines is always of interest to me. it has a very special place in my heart, however corny that may sound to you. i grew up with its politics - it's a topic dear to me and my family ... we would discuss, argue, cuss and fight to make a standpoint - day in, day out. my family, relatives and friends are very much involved in politics - and some even play a part in the government of the philippines, past and present. i have seen the good and evil part of politics - up close. in the end, i came up with a very sad conclusion that "good things that came along as produced and presented for the benefit of the filipino people had actually been a product of an evil chain of acts and events". but hey, it was considered as a norm in the philippines and anywhere else ... or is it? really? people would see the "monument", but never knew the ways and hows it came to life ... very few cared, and they are the ones who are troubled. troubled because they feel that it's wrong and not fair to the hardworking juan dela cruz? or troubled not to be one of those who got a piece of "cake"? who knows? not i ... but i sure would want to know.

though living abroad, i see to it that i keep in touch in my own little way. i simply cannot let go. philippines will always be "my philippines" ... there are a lot of things i miss about the philippines - summing it up translates to sun, sea and sands. nowhere in the world can one enjoy these as in the philippines - and i bet my son would agree.

to all bloggers:

i came here because i thought i have a scoop against MAD that i could share with you which is really maddening.

but reading all your comments about the Philippines, i've changed heart and instead i want to correct your wrong notions about MY beloved country - the Philippines.

it is very obvious that you are already foreigners to this once motherland of yours coz you talk from 80's. hindi na ninyo kilala ang Pilipinas ngayon.

Philippines do not deserve it.

. Sa kabutihan, narecover si Fr. Bossi. Siguro dapat matuwa kung sino man dito ang mga Italian-citezens or mga Europeans, hindi ninyo ikakahiya na na-recover ang kalahi ninyo.

Ang dami ninyong mga pintas sa Pilipinas, na marumi ang kalye, ma-traffic, maraming namamalimos, napag-iiwanan as far as showbiz is concern. I BEG TO DISAGREE ON THESE.

Saang big cities ba around the world ang hindi ma-traffic?

Better update your infos. Examples lang: Si Cesar Montano has done a holywood film called the Great Raid na ngayon ay under negotiation sya to do 3 hollywood films. Merong horror film called Sigaw ang ire-remake sa Hollywood at nakuha ang isa sa mga lead role to reprise her original role. si Billy Crawford eh di lang kilala sa Europe kundi composer din ni Britney, Mariah Carey and more... si Lani Misalucha is the diva that sings with the Company of 7 sa Vegas. Sa hongkong, Si Direct Freddie Garcia and some more than 600 pinoys ang nasa HK Disneyland para mag-perform. Sa Africa well known sina Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales.

Kung babalik sa issue about ruffa, i am one with you, naku gusto ko na talaga syang magilitan... maldita kase.

To: Anon...from Phil.
This is nice reading your opinion, but i think you're closing your eyes to what's really happenning to our country. We're just trying to be logical and by doing so doesn't mean that we loss our love to our country, i for one will react if i hear someone critize my being as a filipino, but i'm a very fair person, if what's been said is truth, i think it's not demeaning if we accept that it's true. What's had been said in here are true becoz i've been there for 12 yrs. trying to do something to help the less fortunate of our kababayan and i saw how our country going down desperately. From the govt. itself, to the military and police system, to what you are saying the dept. responsible for cleanliness, they are all courrupt. The only person that can have a good life in Phil. are those that gets special previleges from the govt., why do you think a lot of our kababayan are running away from our country? You think they are happy to do so? leaving their family, their children? Nay, because these people are just the common tao of our country and the services and privileges for them are nil. Look around you and just be open, the same problems we had then and now, even worst now are visible, i maybe out of our country but i'm updated with what's going on there. thanks to the internet!!!!
The truth is that Phil. will never take off unless all those parasites will be demolished and the only way for that(my opinion) is bloody revolution. We start from scratch but it will be easier to climb if we eliminate those bloody buwaya in the govt.
İ am a very proud filipino truth of that is i've been married for 25 yrs. but never had i lost my phil. passport, never had i changed it to the passport of my husband. Taught my daughter and husband my language, they are very fluent, and taught them to eat tuyo and bagoong and with hands...but i never closes my eyes to reality....and the reality is Philippine is only for the privileged filipinos never for the the common tao, the 85% poor population you are mentioning. Are you one of those priviledge?
