philippines, my philippines ...

everything, and aything about the philippines is always of interest to me. it has a very special place in my heart, however corny that may sound to you. i grew up with its politics - it's a topic dear to me and my family ... we would discuss, argue, cuss and fight to make a standpoint - day in, day out. my family, relatives and friends are very much involved in politics - and some even play a part in the government of the philippines, past and present. i have seen the good and evil part of politics - up close. in the end, i came up with a very sad conclusion that "good things that came along as produced and presented for the benefit of the filipino people had actually been a product of an evil chain of acts and events". but hey, it was considered as a norm in the philippines and anywhere else ... or is it? really? people would see the "monument", but never knew the ways and hows it came to life ... very few cared, and they are the ones who are troubled. troubled because they feel that it's wrong and not fair to the hardworking juan dela cruz? or troubled not to be one of those who got a piece of "cake"? who knows? not i ... but i sure would want to know.

though living abroad, i see to it that i keep in touch in my own little way. i simply cannot let go. philippines will always be "my philippines" ... there are a lot of things i miss about the philippines - summing it up translates to sun, sea and sands. nowhere in the world can one enjoy these as in the philippines - and i bet my son would agree.

senator miriam defensor-santiago

i still can't believe how this gal got herself elected to such an office. i'd say that her "antics" as CID chief really paid off - what people don't know is that it was her strategic ploy for name recall as she was, already at that time, planning to seek higher office.

reading the article below is no surprise to me ... but watch out folks, think if this gal would try to gun for an even higher office - say presidency of the philippines? heavens forbid!

whatever miriam wants, miriam gets! well, at least that is how people in her circles claim her to be ... nay, if there truly is god - please help the filipino people in the next elections.

the NAIA3 - fiasco

i have heard about this NAIA3-fiasco for a good many years now. this airport facility, said to be a "state-of-the-art"-undertaking just sits in its prime location and not being used since it was completed. why? rumours has it that this was because the philippine government could not pay its constructors in full for their contracts and services. in doing so, any project turn-over is almost impossible - adding to that, the people who worked hard on completing this project were, up to this date, not paid at all. where did all the money allocated for NAIA3's construction and completion went? possibly to the politicians and other government bigwigs involved in the project? well, you guess is just as good as mine ...
